When Hall Newbegin first started this business he looked everywhere for soaps that smelled like real, wild plants, but found they don’t exist. After much experimenting and a lot of messy days in the basement, he eventually figured out a process by which he could get the scent and color of wild plants into soap, by infusing wild plants in the soap oils. Using high quality, sustainably wildcrafted ingredients from the mountains and deserts of the West, all his products are made exclusively from wild plant trimmings. There are no essential oils, perfume oils, or colors. All the smell and color of the vegetable and milk based soaps comes from the wild plant. The incense is made from real plant material, containing nothing but leaves, wood and resin, harvested right from the source. What this means? Now you can enjoy the aromatic pleasures of hiking in the deep, dark woods of the Northwest, or sitting around a campire in the sage blanketed hills of Southern California, without ever leaving your tub!

As avid hikers of mountains and deserts, the wilderness and wildlands of the US are first and foremost at the heart of Juniper Ridge. Since the collection contains all wild harvested plant material, the people at Juniper Ridge go to great lengths to ensure that nothing is harvested in a way that adversely impacts the plants. They make every effort to ensure that the plants used for their products are harvested in a sustainable and responsible manner. They also donate 10% of their business profits to groups that help defend western wilderness.
